we’re Headphonic and we’re dedicated headphone enthusiasts. We want to give everyone, from the headphone novices, to other headphone enthusiasts, the absolute best out of their headphones. Nobody knows headphones better than we do!

Located in Perth Western Australia, Headphonic are responsible for bringing brands such Etymotic, Alessandro, Audio Technica, Ultimate Ears, Talisman and Meier Audio to Australians. Rather than being another “me too!” store, we strive to lead the way while remaining true specialists.

We’ve found that many people aren’t aware what good quality sound is, or, if they are, think that it has to cost a fortune. Another problem is that, due to bad experiences, many people think that headphones have to sound bad. In many cases this is true because headphones are manufactured and marketed as an addon or accessory. When you buy a portable cd player, you’re given a free pair of headphones with it and that’s usually exactly what they’re worth – nothing! Spend a little more on a good pair of headphones and you’ll instantly double the quality of sound you get out of your portable player, without having to spend twice as much. That shiny new iPod might be worth a few hundred dollars, but have you wondered what the bundled headphones are worth?

Like any audio product, a lot of headphones do in fact sound terrible so it’s a good idea to be careful and take your time when buying any. You don’t have to spend a lot, all you need to do is spend smart, listen around and never assume that what sounds good to someone else will sound good to you. In our opinion there is no one headphone to suit everyone, and there is no “best” overall, but there are headphones that will best suit your needs and tastes. Also never assume that a brand you’ve heard of, or have been recommended, is any good. Most companies make more bad headphones than good (with a couple of exceptions).

Headphones are an excellent way to experience high quality sound for a fraction of the cost of a home hifi system, they are also an excellent way to compliment a home hifi system. You’d be surprised at how little you have to spend on headphones that will sound as good as, if not better than, many hifi systems – especially lower end setups.

There are sure to be many people with extremely high end (and very loud) setups sitting in their living rooms being used to 1/10th of their capability because they disturb family/neighbors/pets etc. Likewise there are many people who can’t afford an expensive speaker setup to experience high quality audio.

We believe headphones can be the answer.
