Re: Rock Jaw Audio Alfa Genus V2

Lol oh OK I see what you did there ... when challenged with specifics .. you went with recommending an even more expensive set of in-ears rather then answer based on the criteria given. Joking Marcus I get what you are saying, if i lived closer to somewhere I could listen to stuff I would go there a...

Rock Jaw Audio Alfa Genus V2

Probably some of the best in ears I have owned for all around good sound and comfort with the sources that I own. Brought from Marcus on his recommendation from someone else's thread. I run the "Gold = Natural. Balanced neutral sounding signature across all the frequencies" set of tuning filters in ...

Re: Sorry Mojo you seem to be the biggest lie I have encountered

Words from the wise, thanks for the comment Marcus :) After about 80 hrs of running the Mojo is sounding better, still not the 11 out of 10 the hype seems to indicate but a great sounding DAC never the less. Windows drivers are awesome, this is always a big issue for my setup, so it's nice to have d...

Sorry Mojo you seem to be the biggest lie I have encountered

So day 2 of owning the Chord Mojo and I still can't find the depth or the rhythm or the detail all the reviews keep talking about. If i was comparing it to my my Ipod original mk5 and 6 then yes it does all that, but my Fiio x5 mk3 now that i found what was wrong with it and my IBasso DX80 sound ful...

Re: Fiio X5 Gen3 verses iBasso DX80

An Update on my previous statements regarding the Fiio x5 Gen3 Okay here it is, I hate the Fiio X5 Gen 3. To me with every headphone and speaker/amp set up I own the DX80 sounds better. Turns out the Fiio x5 Gen 3 sounds pretty good when you fix the software bug that mine had in it from ...

CD's and songs for testing your equipment

I have a play list that's called Audio Testing, it has a bunch of songs from my collection that test various things in the audio spectrum, not necessarily my favourite songs but good for testing my gear. The Waifs - [Triple J Hottest 100 Vol 11 [Disc 1] CD1 #15] Lighthouse Missy Higgins - [Triple J ...

Re: Audio Cables, do they make a difference

Until yesterday I was firmly in the I don't think so category and now it looks like I have to buy a bunch of new cables. This particular cable is a 2.0 m long 3.5 to 3.5 analogue signal from the DAC to the amplifier. Some A, B, blind testing this morning with a few friends confirmed what I knew as s...

Audio Cables, do they make a difference

Just plugged some Audioquest Golden Gate audio cables into my computer audio system.
This particular one is replacing a Belkin cable of the same length.
Who here thinks I will hear a difference and who thinks the whole cable thing is a myth.

Re: Audio terms help

The biggest problem the music industry faces today apart from people downloading all of there music for free is the fact that most people have no idea what they are missing from the music they are listening too. A lot of the questions you are asking can not really be described to a level that most p...

Re: Canalphone earbud tips suggestions

I have 8 different types of canal style headphones and don't love any of them for fit or sound reasons, I have 3 different over or on ear headphones and love each one more then the other for comfort and sound.
Maybe you are looking in wrong direction.

Re: Fiio X5 Gen3 verses iBasso DX80

While I have you attention ... ( looks around ... only crickets, anyway) for people after a sound signature for the DX80 I would say neutral bass (if the song has bass then its comes out but if its lean, it sound lean). Mid range is a little proud great for bringing voices out but if your chosen spe...

Re: Fiio X5 Gen3 verses iBasso DX80

That"s a very valid point to make Marcus as you don't see a lot of that in reviews around the web, as in retailers stating that they don't sell stuff due to the failure rate regardless of how it sounds. One thing I didn't mention in my last post was the windows drivers that Ibasso provide. I own an ...

Re: Power Cables

At 240V, 50Hz providing the power cable you have has enough cross sectional area to be able to pass the required current to the load in a well designed audio circuit there should be no perceivable difference. The Audio Engine gear I own seems like its very well engineered to sound great strait from ...

Okay here it is, I hate the Fiio X5 Gen 3. To me with every headphone and speaker/amp set up I own the DX80 sounds better. I can't really pin it down to a specific thing but if i had a choice to listen to an ipod classic for 2 hrs or the Fiio, i would choose the ipod, an Ibasso wins this fight hands...
