Fiio E18

Was just wondering, is there a reason you guys don't stock it ?

Also, can you get it in ?

I'm strongly leaning to it for use with Android devices over other options at this price range, both from Fiio and others, but would also rather fund Marcus' secret volcano island lair, if at all possible. :D

Re: What's your favourite music at the moment?

Well my grandad is trying to get me on to the Pet Shop Boys... :D

Been giving their latest leaked album a bit of a spin... surprisingly much more punchy and gritty than I was expecting.

Not sure it's all my cup of tea, but not too shabby.

Re: New laptop time - suggestions welcome

I got a Vaio for the misses. Not sure exactly which model but it's an in your face lime green. The plastic it's made of is pretty crazy, some of it's luminiscent so sort of very faintly glows, hard to describe. Pretty good laptop to be honest, had no complaints, it does light gaming fairly well when...

Re: Need optical input on my computer

Any reason you can't use a DAC and then have an analog input?

Location may help. :p

Postage would cost more than some are worth.

If you're in Perth and can wait patiently I may have something, I'm off on holidays tomorrow so wouldn't be til I get back.

Re: AKG Q701

I started on a similar path to you. Had/have MS-1s, was really considering the Q701s, based mostly on reviews. Had a listen to the K702 and K242s, decided that wasn't for me and headed off in a Beyer direction and got some T70s. :D Although I was torn between them and MS-2s. I do like the AKGs and t...

Re: About the Brainwavz: HM5 ...

For some reason or another it seems to be USB devices giving you issues, maybe they're dirtying up the 5v rail and that is what the onboard audio chipset would be using? Just one theory among many possibilities. If you can borrow even a cheap sound card to just test if it will solve the noise proble...

Am I missing something ?

I thought there is supposed to be a free version with ads. It just keeps popping up though that only premium users can stream ?

Most people are rational and well informed ?

That's a bit of a stretch. ;)

Re: Jaycar Selling Brainwavz HM5?

It would be the same OEM, although possibly with slight changes such as pads and drivers or tuning, slight branding/cosmetic changes etc. Felix doesn't seem too shifty so I'd definitely believe him on a difference in sound. ;) Although slight grain of salt thrown in for anything that may affect his ...

Re: CD Chatter

Not that I'm aware of. The stripped down OEM version of Nero is a few bucks at computer shops, there may be some freeware out there as well, no idea which one is best for audio CDs, I just use them to rip ISOs at work. :)

Re: Audio Technica ATH-ES7 - can I repair?

Yeah, I've used battery before and it struggled to get enough heat into the joins. Like you've said, okay for fine work though. Butane might be a better option if there's any chance of doing bigger stuff, pretty good for auto electrical work too. I know electrical and security suppliers sometimes ha...

Re: And you thought the Steamer looked dodgy ...

I really hate these trendy websites that fail to clearly explain wtf it is that they are selling. Maybe I'm not fluent enough in hipsterese. They give you pretty pictures so you can see what they're selling. Clearly the Beoplay A3 is an Ipad dock for when you're cruising through third world countir...
