Re: Novice Seeking Advice

Their sound is not being 'lost'. Open phones have a more airy and balanced sound, and less pronounced bass. It's to be expected that you don't find them bassy when comparing them to bass buckets like gaming headphones. I'm a bit puzzled how you read forums if you're blind - is there some text to spe...

Re: Similar Headphones to DT250's

I can only guess you've been unlucky. I don't know the stats on faulty returned DT250s at head phonic, but i'd guess it was almost non existent. I've had mine 7 years and never a wobble or squeak. I had Beyer agents in perth send my dad's old DT100 to sydney for a left channel repair. Cost me next t...

Re: Description up, testing almost complete: AKG K540

In these days of worldwide sales, you'll find any company will do that. You've circumvented their local channels to save money, so your warranty lies with the place you bought it.

Re: Noob Needs Headphones

Headphone driver size has nothing to do with bass response. The MS1 has punchier bass than the Koss, if only because they are able to be fitted more snugly. Or you could look at getting a closed back pair, which usually have more bass response, and in your price range the AT ES700 are very good. The...

Re: It’s time to talk… build quality!

Of the cheapies I bought only the old Vsonics died on me. After 3 years. Still got CX300 that have survived over 6 years, still going. Have Beyer portables that are fine 18 months later, Koss KSC75? Check

These were all cheapish. I don't think the products are the problem....

Agree. I found the ES700 best for fit and sound. The AKG is bassy in comparison.

They have never sold Grados. The Alessandros are rebadged Grados, better priced and smother sounding.

I was tossing up between the two and bought the Beyers.
Beyers have never fitted me very well, they're too loose. ES700 wasn't around when I bought the Beyers.

Re: AKG619

After a week or so with these on hols, the sound is great, but the comfort is pretty ordinary. They're pretty clampy despite giving them is bit of a stretch, and the pads are uncomfortable, and get hot real quick

/Does any of this get any better? Never any of the same issues with the DT501

Amp not really necessary. A good source, yes. Don't expect any noticeable gains in gaming, only music.

Re: AKG619

Thanks, good to see the new shop. You need some decent signs up there... Ended up with the AT ES700 instead. Good bass, excellent midrange and still clear up top. Made the 619 sound quite muddy, even though they're not. Your crack pusher made sure I tried the KEF while I was there. Brilliant bit of ...
