K812 - does it live up to the hype ?

Old timers will know my record with AKG headphones, but it seems that while I've been off with the fairies AKG have released a headphone that the kids over at HF are telling me is the 'best eva !'. Of course, said kids have a long history of proclaiming everything over 1K to be the 'best eva !...

Re: Marcus, you are gonna love this ...

Sennheiser and Grado remain family owned businesses, but for how long ? Not sure about Grado, but Sennheiser must be worth serious money by now.

Can't recall seeing sales figures for headphone sales anywhere ...

2 billion USD worth of headphones sold in the US each year - that's one hell of a pie.

Re: Sexy Kef headphones

Marcus, as I'm sure you will recall when I joined the board a few years back (you know you love me), most of the mainstream manufacturers had zero interest in either headphones or headphone amps, and few had any interest in building dedicated DACs. I'm firmly convinced that two things have reinvigor...

Re: Your tips for the 2013 Footy premiers ?

Port got a lot closer than I think many would have predicted, and the Sharks just beat the Cowboys 20-18 in a game that was marred by some really bizarre officiating right up to the final hooter. At one stage, the clock was stuck on '00:41', then clicked over to '10:58' when the Sharks pointed it ou...

Hitler finds out Richmond lost to Carlton .... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cy_w72DuOmc OK, most of us have seen the various parodies using this footage, but this one definitely has some special moments, even allowing for the typos in some of the 'subtitling' and the fact that whoever put it toget...

Re: Your tips for the 2013 Footy premiers ?

You've got a few serious dummy spitters in the AFL - standing up in the booth and throwing their headsets onto the floor. Most of the NRL coaches just make the word 'fuck' as obvious as possible for the cameras, although Geoff Toovey really unloaded on the refs a few weeks back. Nothing like a 10K f...

Re: Your tips for the 2013 Footy premiers ?

Would have been great to be at the ground and see the looks on the faces of Pies' fans and assembled dignitaries. Eddie is a notoriously sore loser, and he knows the media is keen to get a shot of him losing it during a game - must have been hell looking at the scoreboard.

That may have been Port's Grand Final, but it sent Eddie back to the sheds and that makes me very happy.

Wise words, Jack - about 7 months after said holidays, and completely indifferent to the fact that Marcus answers almost every post on *his* forums, but wise nonetheless.

Re: Your tips for the 2013 Footy premiers ?

Port take on Collingwood (grrr...) at the 'G in the first round of the AFL finals this coming weekend, and the Sharks *should* have an easier game with Canberra. Neither of my teams is looking like a genuine premiership contenders, but as long as they beat Collingwood/Manly(!) I'll be happy. http://...

Re: Your tips for the 2013 Footy premiers ?

You're basing a Port premiership on your love of Teal? They're playing a proper finals team this week, and they'll get beat. So you win again, you win again, here I stand again, the loser http://www.footballnation.com.au/latest-news/afl-scores-round-22-2013-fremantle-vs-port-adelaide/ We are the Ch...
