Re: New website coming soon

I like the new website, but I'm having trouble navigating it. Whenever I attempt to click on Open headphones in the Products menu, the whole menu disappears.

Re: Recommendations on new wired headphones

EDIT : I noticed there's an 80Ohm version and a 250Ohm version. What's the difference? Does one produce better sound than the other? The DT250 is a great headphone. You'll probably want the 80Ohm version. The only difference would be that the 250Ohm version won't go as loud as the 80Ohm. The 250Ohm...

Re: Headphone DAC/Amp that can power 130w 6ohm front speakers

Make of this what you will. From here: http://au.yamaha.com/en/products/audio-visual/hifi-components/amps/a-u671/?mode=model It sounds like it would be good for AD900 Another major benefit of the USB DAC function allows it to also be used as a high quality head phone amp for computer audio. Its inte...

Re: Headphone DAC/Amp that can power 130w 6ohm front speakers

I'm not sure about damage, but it would probably struggle to power anything other than small bookshelf speakers.

Why not just get a Yamaha A-U671 and call it a day?

Re: Headphone DAC/Amp that can power 130w 6ohm front speakers

A separate DAC would connect digitally to the PC (USB, optical or coax) and convert the digital signal to an analog signal, which it would then send to an integrated amp via analog RCA cables.

Re: Headphone DAC/Amp that can power 130w 6ohm front speakers

There are lots of options, but budget is tight... As GougMan said, an integrated amp with a DAC would be fine. Something like a Yamaha A-U671 Alternatively, a stereo amp like a Yamaha A-S201 or something, then a separate dedicated DAC... Or alternatively, if the headphones are the main priority, use...

I would have recommended you the Brainwavz B2, but as you probably know they aren't available nowadays. :tear:

Re: Headphones ohm's vs DAC settings

Yet to test it, was worried I would do damage. That's unlikely if you're careful... Just make sure the volume is set quite low, and with the phones not on your ears at first--you don't want to damage them. High gain usually just makes things louder. It also could just be that you find the Sennheise...

Re: Need $400 Headset for Gaming/Music.

The custom One Pro caught my eye, but it is only 16ohm, does this pose any sort of negative side effect? Nah... Sometimes low impedance can mean headphones are very power hungry. Like if they were low impedance, low sensitivity orthos or something, then you'd definitely need a dedicated headphone a...

Re: Need $400 Headset for Gaming/Music.

I think you should consider the Beyerdynamic DT250.

They'll satisfy your comfort requirements, and while they aren't "the best possible" for playing games, they're still very good. They're definitely balanced and they're what I use for games. They're also great for pretty much all styles of music.

Scratchy pot

I've got an Einar VC-01i which I've had for a few years now and the volume pot is starting to go. It scratches when I change volume, which isn't so bad except now it's starting to interfere with the sound even when I'm not changing volume. Is it easy to replace these things? I haven't opened it up t...
