Re: New website live!

Have your products offered been reduced drastically (eg no iBasso products or Meier portable dac / amps) or are you still updating the site?

Re: LH Labs Pulse X vs Audiolab M-DAC

Also unless the Pulse is in the new chassis you cannot upgrade the display firmware. Which is a total pain in the butt as you would have to send it back theoretically to LHL in the US if there are any extra features implemented in future that require the display to be updated. All in all unless you ...

Re: LH Labs Pulse X vs Audiolab M-DAC

I have the Pulse Infinity and to be honest I find the headphone out to be a little on the cold side, which makes it pair better with warmer sounding headphones or perhaps a slightly warmer sounding amp. You also need very clean power because it is very sensitive to power line noise so unless you hav...

Re: Canals with Good Isolation and iPhone MIC

The problem with Ety is you have to shove it really really deep into your ear and I never found them to be comfortable for long flights. I think shure iems have almost as good isolation but are much more comfortable. They have a very different sound signature to the Ety though. Usually shures are mo...

Re: Most accurate open/closed headphones under $400?

Have a listen to the closed back Audio Technica MSR 7 if you can. I really liked them when I heard them in Japan. It is not the most bassy headphone and not particularly warm, but I found them personally very enjoyable. I would not recommend the K702 if neutrality if the criteria as they are a big b...

Re: Indecisive between Fiio X3 and Ibasso DX50

I think the DX50 is a fairly warm sounding player (when not rockboxed) so that X3 must be very warm indeed.

Re: iBasso DX50 landed!

Mine is rockboxed and it has not missed a beat and I have all the music on the sdcard (64 gig samsung). Only caveat is that rockbox audio playback is maxed at 48khz and will resample everything higher than that back to 48 khz. The SRC used by rockbox is supposed to only be average because it is opti...

Re: REVIEW: EarSonics SM64

When you say "converted" I hope you mean you replaced your music with a lossless source, or re-ripped all your music from one lossless format (eg, CD) to another lossless format (eg FLAC) rather than converting from a lossy format (eg, MP3 or AAC) to a lossless format.

Re: DT 770 Sibilance - Will it improve?

I have never heard the 400 or 400i but the people who have say it 400i sounds more like the 500 than the 560. Also the 560 is supposed to be deceptively hard to drive well.

Re: DT 770 Sibilance - Will it improve?

Beyond a certain point, it is a matter of taste and how sensitive you are to certain frequencies. For example I have heard the T90 and the HE500 back to back multiple times and agonised over it for ages, but I personally prefer the way the HE500 sounds compared to the T90 sound. The T90 sounds just ...

Re: It’s time to talk… build quality!

Unfortunately some really good sounding headphones have atrocious build quality. I am surprised by the Hd25s though, they are virtually indestructible! If you are having a cable problem, you can just swap the cable out and put in a new one? And the cable is screwed in at the end, so should be pretty...

Re: He-500 dac and amp pairing....

Apparently the cheapest way to get top performance from the Hifiman planar magnetics is to get a reasonably powerful speaker amp and stick speaker taps on the headphone. It is a simple mod and relatively low investment compared to some of the crazy exotic things being suggested which might give you ...

Re: Similar fit to Brainwavz M1?

If you are going to Tokyo do drop by e-earphones. Amazing shop and they often have Japanese stuff that is not available or verrrry expensive everywhere else. For example audio technicas are often cheaper in Japan as they are a Japanese brand. You can also check out the fotm Zero Audio Tenore Carbo w...

How do the A83 hold up against the earsonics range and the audiofly? Are they in sm3 or sm64 territory or just different?
