Really? Why's that?

DT880 has great bass response and range, and the 250 certainly isn't bass shy. The 880 are my 'go to' phones for electronic stuff.

Generally people who like bass heavy music like bass heavy phones and on that basis both of them would be wasted as they have much more to offer. That's why! On the whole it is generally recommended that people buy headphones to suit their general musical taste. On that fateful day when I first walked in to Headphonic in ignorance wanting to buy a pair of Ultrasones "cause I really like listening to classical music", I got a very quisical look from Marcus (accompanied no doubt by some raised eyebrows when I wasn't looking) and walked out with pair of DT250s. I know both have great bass response but you couldn't compare them with Ultrasones in that department. 880s are my go to phones for all music. I'd recommend them for any music but if doof-doof is your thing.....

By the way I really liked the Ultrasones even for classical stuff, it being somewhat devoid of heavy bass, but I know now they'd be taking up shelf space.

Looks like I will be saving some money then, as it seems that the DT250's are all people need :D

I still feel a touch guilty about not buying them from here, but at that price (second hand) I couldn't say no. And I'm very glad I didn't.

Blobby: right, I understand what you're saying. But I do think it's a touch unfair to assume that just because the OP likes bass that he won't appreciate good headphones :-) When I went from HP890 to DT531 I was really disappointed in the bass, until I put the 890 back on and realised it was just a muddy mid-bass mess. Live and learn...

A lot of us start out that way - I too thought it was about bass and volume to begin with and that "better" should mean "more", took me starting a headphone business to really start understanding how things work ;)

Nice story. Pity the ending was covered in soggy doggy drool...

You should fish them out of the bin and clean them up. They'd still sound better than Skullcandy's.

hahaha

One of my favourite descriptions for headphones (Sennheiser HD500 or something, but memory is hazy on the details) used to be on Headroom, about 10 years ago now, that said something like "bought a pair for my dog, he won't stop howling but at least he's stopped scratching his ears" - THERE'S YOUR PROBLEM, BLOBBY

I don't get it. My DT250s are the only thing he's ever touched. They're obviously desirable on so many different levels and to so many different species.

I'm thinking of getting the DT770-32, will this be added to the catalogue as an ongoing item, or is this a once off batch?
