RE0 Replacement?

Post by robberry » Tue Nov 15, 2011 3:00 pm

So, after two years of sterling service, the right side of my trusty RE0s has given up.

The question is now pretty simple - do I replace like for like or do I get something else?

I haven't got a bad word to say about the RE0s, but haven't been paying attention to developments in the interim - is there anything in a similar price range that is better? Or is just as good for less? I see a whole new bunch of canal phones in the recomended list these days and the RE0 is off that list. I guess I'm looking at the M2, M3 and GR02 as alternatives.

Seeing as I mught find myself in your shoes in the near future I would like to know how the Brainwavz B2 and M3 stack up against each other.

I went from RE0 (which I loved) to M3 (which I adore). Can't speak for the other options but I've been very, very impressed with the M3.

I'd give the M3 a shot, or upgrade to the B2 (worth the extra).

Thanks, looks like I just need to make the decision about how much I can afford right now. Out of interest, would the RE0/CX300 fit on either of these models?

I'm pretty keen on the M3's but they don't look like they'd fit under my helmet with the unusual shape, or are they smaller then they look?

My helmets a shark race pro r and it has gaps in the lining for headphones so they should sit fine but im concerned about them staying in place when I slip the helmet on, last time I tried that with some cheapo headphones they cut my ear :(
