headphones for work recommendation

Post by Curoch » Tue Dec 06, 2011 11:03 am

Hi!

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a pair of headphones for me - I currently have a pair of Earsonic SM3v2s and I love them. However, at my new workplace, I move around far too much, so putting them on and taking them off is not practical.

I would love a pair of headphones that I could use as an alternative to the SM3s.

They need to be:
- closed (unfortunately)
- not hot (air conditioning is possessed)
- as close to 200AUD as possible delivered, although I might be able to go up in budget slightly if it is required.
- long cable (2m+)
- similar performance to SM3v2 as possible, but I wouldn't say no to more bass. :D

I hope I'm not asking for the moon!

A

pre-xmas things sell faster than usual - our last ESW9 shipment (last week) was pretty much all allocated to preorders :) They're a really great performer for the price (used to be closer to $500).

You're an evil tempter!

Just for due diligence reasons, are there any suitable headphones that come in under 200? Gotta build a case for the wife!

M50? Might get a bit hot - but that's closed for you. The ESW9 and DT250 won't get quite as hot (smaller pads on the AT, velour on the Beyer).

Shure SRH840 satisfies every requirement except maybe the "moving around a lot" one.

For better portability, definitely the ESW9, but for something within your budget maybe the ES7 (and get a headphone extension cable from somewhere like Dick Smith)

Paid preorders take priority over unpaid - if you place and pay for an order you'll be guaranteed one of the next shipment.
If you don't pay up front, we'll let you know when we have stock available that isn't allocated already :)

How do I fix it? Also - your ICQ's been down for days. just FYI

Just redo the order, I can get the DD one deleted for you :)
ICQ seems a bit flakey lately, try MSN and if that fails chuck an email through :)

I tried a pair of them in a shop yesterday. They were better than the Fanny Wangs, but I almost gagged when I saw the $599 price tag.
