These ones? http://headphones.com.au/psingle?productID=595

I've had a demo pair for a while now, nice but not amazing unfortunately.

Philippines Headfonics Marcus liked his demo pair but AU Headphonics Marcus didn't. Though the review was interesting, as it basically stated the issue about the headband that our Marcus raised about the A900X and also stated that the upper end ATH were a matter of taste similar to what our Marcus has said.

Maybe at some stage both Marcus (Marcusi?) were the same person but a different choice about keeping a pair of headphones caused a parallel dimension to form. I think the Headfonics clone Marcus is evil though, whilst his reviews may be similar in terms of sensibility, often there are old conclusions/statements about the headphones that oddly enough can be explained by looking at their sponsors page.

Awesome Headphonic Marcus review W3000ANV: Whilst Its also a matter taste and they are very good, there may be better value else where.
Clone Headfonic Marcus review W3000ANV: Its limited so you should buy it now.

Sorry, I just thought it was funny that there was a headfonic with a Marcus as well  I've read reviews off that site before but didn't notice.

EDIT: I fully intend to own a pair of woodies from Audio Technica some day, but probably want to audition a pair rather than ordering blind.

I have a suspicion that headfonic Marcus isn't really named Marcus. ;)

So much for the 'Limited Edition Flagship' buzz - still, they look gorgeous with the matching amp.

* No relation.

Lovely headphones, but not "the best" so much as a headphone pretty much guaranteed to maintain value should you decide to sell it in the future (buy a couple of pairs and sell them for a profit on ebay in 2 years).

Instead of investing in gold, invest in headphones?

Hm, I guess that depends on what kind of post-apocalyptic future we want to plan for.
Wearing headphones while killing zomibes would be cool, depending on what kind of zombies they are (shamblers/runners etc).

I'd rather use the gold I invested in to forge a magical golden gun (no relation to the 007 kind) with matching golden bullets.

Zombies hate gold.

With the exception of the first Left4Dead, this is my favorite realisation of the Zombie Apocalype:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Walkin ... (TV_series)

Some WPers bitched that the second series has too much talk and too few zombies, but there are some incredibly powerful moments that you just wont get in your normal Zombie-fest. Still the only such series/movie where I've even cared who gets taken by the zombies. When it happens, its like being kneed in the groin.

I've had mine since December and prefer it to the W5000. It has a beguiling quality but the differences between them are subtle rather than marked. They sound like pretty close siblings to my ears.

I'd be interested in knowing how Marcus, Felix and anyone else find it compares to the T1, which I heard at a headphone meet a couple of years ago and thought that it sounded a bit bright and somewhat metallic at the time.

The T1 has treble detail like whoa, which can be a bit bright if you're not careful - metallic? Haven't noticed that. Out of the current high end technical sounding headphones I think the T1 is what I'd consider "the best" but in terms of listening preference that's a different matter altogether (I still prefer most sub-$1000 models to the $1000+ offerings).

Yeah, the metallic or steely quality is weird but it struck me at the time. A resonance in the cups perhaps or just my hearing? I dunno but I'm hoping to give them another audition.

I completely agree with the 'metallic' description, first track I chucked on with them was tenor sax and it sounded really unnatural to me

hehe Matt I am very real and yes I am a Marcus, I honestly didn't know you guys had a headphonics Marcus haha ... I am Irish though so that is a bonus :)

Yes our sponsors gave us the headphone so I do have to temper slightly what I said in the review (locals have very sensitive hearts here) when I conclude so not to offend but I did honestly enjoy them and even if you do spend 1500 on them I think you will get your money back in years to come. If they were a $1k I would have bought them in a heart beat because I do enjoy oddball mid-centric cans and they worked so well with my hard rock collection.

Beware the metallic impression, matching with ATH is paramount out of experience with the W5000 and I hated it with my Lyr but loved it with the Burson HA-160 and a tube pre-amp buffer in my DAC. After a while they did calm down a lot and the initial shock I got over after say 50 hours or so.

I am not a fan of 3d wing systems either :)

I bought a T1 instead also...maybe next time for the ATH :)
