Beyerdynamic T90

I'm interested to see how these sound, but they certainly look good.

I think I might start saving, regardless. Given that they're 50 Euros more expensive than the T70, though, that might take me a while...

hmm.. Fully open tesla design headphones? I'd be interested in seeing what they're like since the closed ones already have a great soundstage and detail and even they are maybe a little lacking in bass for some.

What are the bass differences between the T70 and the DT770 ? The DT770 is meant to be quite bassy no? T70 doesn't seem like it is.

i personally liked the DT770, yes the bass is quite substantial, but not quite as refined and detailed as the T70.

Marcus has provided his thoughts on the T70 in another thread.

Indeed. The DT770 is still my goto basshead choice. The T70 is just well balanced. The only real similarity is their design/build. Nice to see beyer haven't fiddled with what's not broken on their high end phones wrt physical design.

+1 agree.

they've kept to the same super comfortable, lightweight design.

If for some inexplicable reason I managed to break the band on one of them I could easily switch the cups over onto one of the others and it would be good to go. That said given the number of times I've run over (with my chair) or sat on or dropped my DT880's without any damage to them except for minor scratches/scuffs I'd have to be trying really hard to break them to do any serious damage. I especially don't recommend sitting on them - It hurts :p

So no idea on availability?

Might be worth the wait, an open tesla :)

Looking at the details, is this an tweaked open version of the T70? Like a budget T1? hmmm.

Its the DT990 Tesla equivalent/replacement. So it'd be an open Tesla in the same range as the T70 wouldn't it?

I am guessing that the T90 will be to the T70 what the DT990 is to the DT770, but as I only have the T50p, and haven't listened to any of the others, it's really all moot.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what they're like, although it'll probably take me a year to save up for them. I suspect that they'll be around $600

Haven't got an eta yet.

Speculating on what they will sound like is pointless ;)
The T70 is nothing like the DT770, therefore I doubt the T90 will be like the DT990.
Maybe they'll release a T80 just to confuse people more.

I think I'm going to need a pair of these if they're any good.
