Fidue A31s

My well loved AF33s finally died. Given how they were treated, they lasted particularly well.

I was about to buy another pair and noticed the Fidues for $10 more and with the coveted 'recommended' tag. They arrived today (ordered Tues night - great work as usual guys).

For $40 these are pretty goddamn good. Although I don't have them around to compare any more, they seem a lot closer to my old RE0s or Brainwavz M3s than the AF33s. I seems like there could be a bit too much mid-bass, but otherwise they're much better than I expected for the price.

The over-ear hooks and case are nice, and they're crazy-small. The pause button on the cable is handy too. I could have done with a bit more range in the tips (the biggest single flanges are *just* big enough), and the cable is a bit tangle-happy. But again, $40.

Yeah, $40 right!
I think they're pretty great for the price, super slim and easy to fit as well which is a bonus.

Can these be worn nicely over the ear?

What about the A83? Any thoughts compared to the usual suspects?

Nice rich sound, great build, tricky to fit.

How do the A83 hold up against the earsonics range and the audiofly? Are they in sm3 or sm64 territory or just different?

Got my A31s yesterday, very happy for the sound for the price. The mid-bass sounds overpronounced, but I like this in an earbud. No harsh trebel (I have a problem with on some headphones and earbuds).

Didn't think they were going to fit because they only came with one set of biflange tips and they are larger than what I used with my RE-400; but they seem to fit quite well so far maybe the rubber is a little thinner/more flexible.

Build quality is what I would expect for a $40 set of earbuds. Cable looks like it may tangle easy, but that remains to be seen.

Assuming you get a decent fit I'd rate the A83 pretty highly. Not as good as the SM3/SM64 but up there with stuff like the SE535.

Said above I was worried about the cable being tangly. Had them about a week, cable doesn't seem to tanked whasoever. It's actually a really good cable.

The longer I have mine the happier I am with them. For $40 they're a steal.

Agreed, my only problem is they don't always fit (especially my right ear, must be a funny shape), sometimes they stay in for an hour sometimes they keep popping out. The best fitting canals I have had are the Hifiman RE-400. But that's just my ears and what fits them, not really a knock on the product. For $40 you can't go wrong with these.

Just wanted to add that I picked up a set of these and they're fantastic for the price. Can't go wrong with these as a starter for in-ears.

Sweet!

I'm still super impressed by their performance for the price :)

Already lost mine but not worried because they are so cheap hahah

Still considering going back to the RE-400 though because they fit my ears better. I actually prefer the sound of the A31.
