Classification of Forum Contributors

Post by firefly0071 » Sun Aug 17, 2008 6:57 am

I have been on this forum site for a short period. I have put a small number of posts.

Because of short time period on this forum - I have the title of "lurker".

I have the following questions:

- what is the criteria for each category?
-My GF has mis-interpreted "lurker to be something ëlse. I hope no one else thinks that.

I would rather have the category as "Loser who knows nothing about headphones"" rather than something who occasionally posts.

Also once I get into the next category I will be OK.

Are you kidding? I was a pimply-faced-voice-breaking teenager when I joined this forum and still partially am...and I'm only an enthusiast!...And you're asking to be a loser who knows nothing about headphones? Please...I thought I was low enough... :p

EDIT - Is this thread meant to be in the General Chitchat section?
When you assume, you make and ass out of u and me...

Sorry - should be in general chit-chat.

The only criteria is number of posts, unless you stand out in some particular way ;)

"Lurker" is a common term in internet forums for someone that doesn't contribute much, so to rise above the lurker status you need to contribute more ;)

I see - I could respond to Marcus's comments all the time!

If I purchase a headphone amplifier on 1st September (monthly pay) do I change my avatar title?

which reminds me of a question I was meant to ask when I first joined...

why is your nickname "Snufkins" Marcus?

Is it your wifes nickname for you? Nudge nudge wink wink...

It's an online alias I've been using for many years now :) People from OCAU/Head-Fi and some other forums would know me by it.
Snufkin is a character in a series of books I used to read when I was younger, and now read to my son.
