Couldn't be more right. More people watch SOCCAH than any other sports in the world, but I guess most people are stupid too

Exactly Right!!! Most people are stupid
If you use the "majority has to be right" as a rule, then you shouldn't take any advice from this forum, Head-Fi has a much larger user base - this must equate to better advice.
More people use stock buds than aftermarket headphones, therefore stock buds are better.
Top 50 charts always have the best music, cos they sell more singles.
Just becuase something is mainstream, doesn't make it better, just makes it popular.

Noooo! I'm right here Blob :)

I was up at 4am to watch our crushing defeat :crybaby:
Never been a fan of German football but, bloody hell, they're on to something here. Blistrering. Too bad it was our bacon in the frying pan :\
We'll get Ghana and Serbia though  and then we'll kick out USA and then, uhm, Brazil has to go :ninja: . Of course Italy is out by now anyway
So it'll be us vs Spain (or maybe Agentina) in the final :D

I've missed too many matches already. Bloody wrong time to play in the middle of the night. And replays at 2am

I'm looking forward to the Netherlands vs Denmark tonight

Well it's great to hear from you again, MrsF. See, football brings out the best! Here we have an avid Sweden fan who's adopted another country. I have to say i haven't been impressed with Zlatan this year. I've been an Ajax supporter all my life and a Barca one too so I've seen his name crop up on my team's team sheet for years. Man it's great to have a football fan to talk to. I was giving up in exasperation. If ony we could circumvent all those other miserable twits that keep hijacking this thread. I've trying banning a few but they won't listen. Ned-Den is one of the highlights for me too.

If you don't like the game, stop wasting time telling people you don't like it and move on.

A very, very large part of the world appreciates it a great deal, so it's certainly not a "crap" game :p

It's certainly a lot of fun to play and takes a lot of skill, tactics and endurance, beyond faking injuries.

Football is an odd game in that it is more fun to watch at the non-professional level. It is at its best in little village vs village rivalry games...... more physical contact, more aggressive offense, at least one big punch up, and if the ref doesn't go home in fear for his life it would be disappointing.

But being the best player amongst a group of buddies, it is most certainly fun to play :D

Now with respect to this World Cup specifically........ yep, Australia is right back at their level this WC, being pummeled by the far superior Euro teams. We got really lucky last time, but I fear it has raised unrealistic expectations. We won't do so well this time, people will lose hope, and flock back to 'safe' sports where we win - thus forgetting about football forever :(

But it's a bad sport because I say it is.

On a similar note because the premier league gets so much exposure the England side also suffers from unrealistic expectations. What people tend to forget is that the premier league other than being held in England just isn't English. Those are my conclusions from the first match. It'll all change in a week.
