Gin

Post by Belial » Sat Dec 10, 2011 9:05 pm

There's lot of talk about beer and scotch, but I think gin makes an excellent music enhancement chemical.

I usually drink Tanqueray, but last night I grabbed some Bombay Sapphire. Holy hell it's good.

That is all.

I haven't drunk bourbon since Uni (where I drank a hell of a lot of it). Might have to give it another go :-)

I'm rather partial to a Hendricks with tonic and cucumber, although it makes me feel like I should be wearing a safari suit and pith helmet for some reason...

I'm a Tequila man myself. Gin I throw in cocktails now and then, but I just can't handle drinking it straight and I've yet to have a Martini that I like :(

Smokey martini (2 parts gin, 1 part scotch) is pretty freakin unbelievable.

Tequila is the stuff that highschool nightmares are made of. Then again, tequila shots are the reason my wife and I hooked up, so it's not all bad.

See - many people have that attitude toward Tequila, but I actually like to enjoy the flavour of a good Tequila - slamming it down is what you do with cheap stuff to get hammered fast.

Espolon Silver and Reposado can be found for around $50 which is ridiculously cheap considering how good the stuff is comparatively (I prefer it to Patron).

Might have to give it another try *gulp*

What was the stuff that used to come with a red plastic hat on the bottle? El Toro? Man I drank of a lot of that in highschool.

I barely drink (maybe twice a year) but I don't mind mingling with alcoholics.

I had a couple of alcohol poisoning episodes when I was younger and less responsible, these days I actually have trouble drinking enough to get proper drunk - now I don't drink for the intoxication, I drink for the flavours :)

Never drinking again, even if it means I never attend another staff Xmas party. I'm very good at avoiding hangovers when I dont have to pay for the grog - sadly, they found my Achilles heel. :crybaby:

I have a bottle of it - still actually prefer the Espolon :)
Voodoo Tiki has some nice stuff as well.
The Herradura Anejo is also really quite tasty. I haven't actually tried their silver, but their Reposado isn't bad - I'd rate Espolon higher in terms of VFM, thhough.

It also depends on how you'll be drinking it - some are wasted on mixers/cocktails, others go really well.
