Stax without a doubt 0 degrees kelvin

1. people who are into headphones will know what they are
2. people who aren't, won't, but will be so confused that they will by default gush

also, perhaps my monitor needs calibration, but is the girl in the photo above wearing stax? kinda hard to tell with the low light...

First headphones I ordered from headphonic A900

Being delivered from headphonic

D: geh. I was tempted to buy headphones based on how they look but then ended up gravitating towards hopefully soundquality XD (I was tempted by the lime AKGs but that probably means that they are uncool). Otherwise I'd just shop at JBHIFI where how the product looks is the only thing considered XD plus a markup. For better and or for worse, I only intend to wear the B2s in public.

It probably shouldn't be a surprise that my choice in headphones is uncool considering i'm currently studying/researching for a phd. I do agree, I see a lot of people with beats headphones, I suppose they are good if you just like bass and dislike being distracted by other uncool sound ranges.

HYP3R UL7RA G4M3R PR0, the world leader in awesomenesses have announced their latest gaming headphones, the SUP3R 1337 HAX0R PH0N3Z Edition 69.

Despite industry speculation that they highly resemble the now discontinued DT531 headphone of Beyerdynamic fame, they definitely not according to HYP3R UL7RA G4M3R PR0!

Closer investigation reveals these headphones are hand-made in Australia in very limited quantities, in fact there is only 1 in existance and is only available by private messaging dc on the Headphonic Forums.

RRP of these headphones comes in at a cool AUD$1499 and are only expected to increase in value over the years. They don't even need an amp! Many 'hard core' gamers have given up close to 12 hours of gaming in an effort to secure these highly sought after headphones that are said to increase gaming performance, impress fellow gamers and even stimulate attention from members of the female gender.

The creator who's identity is unknown was unavailable for comment as he was busy eating a seafood dinner with a mysterious woman that was to precede a 12 hour 'hard core' session of activity that cannot be disclosed at this time.

Cut that out, dingo - grev will try to order a pair. Or two pairs - whichever is the more expensive option.

I occasionally hunt for stax deals on yahoo so I can get more pairs to horde/listen to with my girlfriend and came across the beyer electrostat.

I wont buy it (planning $7k holiday), but I think it looks pretty cool

I recon that dude in the picture also had an expensive speaker system, why would you spend money insulating the room for better psychoacoustics and use headphones :ninja:

That's not acoustic dampening, it's fake Zebra skin wallcarpet. Get with the 70s dude...

If the carpet is thick enough like we used to put up, it'd probably work as acoustic dampening. The pile on that hanging looked quite thick.

EDIT: You don't see anyone covering their walls in egg cartons anymore, that must be too 80s.
