Headphone source and low latency input?

Postby Muppet » Tue Sep 19, 2017 4:00 pm

Just wondering if there are any headphone sources that also double as a low latency input ie for musical instruments such as guitar?

If you mean something with analogue in and out - all headphone amps are generally low latency.
If you throw an ADC or DAC into the mix it will probably slow things down, also going wireless will introduce latency.

What I mean is to combine a traditional headphone source with something like this https://us.focusrite.com/usb-audio-inte ... rlett-solo

instead of requiring 2 devices with 2 usb interfaces etc.

Yeah that's USB interface so probably using an ADC, so if it's going Input->ADC->DAC->Output latency is going to be tricky to avoid :(
Not my field of expertise, however, so I may be wrong :)
