Fwiw, I do get the part about avoiding coloration everywhere except the headphones - you end up with the classic Head-Fi cooking show : 'Hey, if I plug a warm amp into my cold source, will I get iced coffee ?'.

That said, headphones with a dominant coloration seem to polarise people - the ESW9 is a classic example. Is the sound 'accurate to source' ? No, I dont believe it is - too warm and intimate for that - but is it 'fun'. Absolutely.

As always, Ben's mileage will vary.

Couldn't agree more.
Xonar STX | EKS Otus | SGS II | Sansa Fuze =>
Shure DJ750 | Beyer 770 32ohm | Brainwavz M3
So basically half way there :D

Sell the MS1, you've got the Pro.
Sell the 531, the 880 will cover that.
Keep the 250, you need a closed phone.

Come to think of it, sell the Pro too, the money will buy a really nice amp.
Sell the O1. Buy a few cases of Sierra Nevada.

Happy to help.

I am selling the MS-1 - not because of the Pros, but because of the 250s. I really don't need 2 (3 if you count the M3) options at work.

The 880s don't cover the 531. I'd say it's almost the reverse ;-)

I've actually considered selling the Pros and the 880s but I can't bring myself to do it.

I'm also kinda tempted to replace the O1 with the DACMatrix combo, but that'd be even harder to justify if I sold my high end phones.

That's how it is. When I think I've got to many phones, I think which ones I would sell. The 250 is not one of them. So it's either the RS2 or MS1. The RS2 is better, but the MS1 wouldn't fetch enough cash to make it worthwhile. So I end up doing nothing.

I've got some loaned 880 (& Bottlehead Crack) at the moment and while they're quite nice, I can't see myself buying a pair. Not a Bottlehead either. Getting to try such stuff confirms I've already made some good choices.

I'm the same-ish. If I find someone interested in the 1s I'll sell them, but I can't be bothered trying to sell them through head-fi etc. They'll just sit in my drawer at work :-(

It is nice to be able to borrow gear. I don't have that, other than via the returns policy (which is why I don't own a T-31H).

Not drink?

(I know, it's an absurd idea. But it's a sure-fire way to not get drunk).
