I can't quite work out if they are going to upgrade the whole lot of do 2 runs, I'm not fussed either way, it will make zero difference to the performance.

Ya actually now the guy that is doing the Aus GB says that he prefers that we order direct from the UK GB, so it seems like everyone are getting the upgrade <hopefully>

For anyone that is interested this is the thread for the Aus GB:

Or of course you could go to the other Aus buy which was organised by my flatmate:
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/group-bu ... au-nz.html

We've received all the boards, almost all of the parts (think we didn't get enough power/gain switches)... I even assembled one for myself on the weekend and it tested and works fine :D

We have a couple of kits that are at this point un-dedicated to people at this point iirc, so if you're in Brissy and/or want to contact Hovo on that thread feel free :)

Is anyone here getting close to finishing their build yet ? I know thats easy for me to type, but the finished product looks good in these photos:

No idea how it measures against nwavguy's claims.

Waiting on circuit board, waiting on parts...

The group buy for circuit boards ended up hitting 800
so once that's been distributed there will be many more O2s popping up all over the place.

800 ordered and already an extra 60 have been asked, probably leading to a second group buy.
Do you reckon it will be worth my time building two and selling one to cover the costs?

I for one, would definitely buy one off you since I'm hella lazy and not knowledgeable enough to make one. But yes, I would want one!

Talking diy and "worth my time" is a funny way of looking at things. If I put a $$ value on the time spent on diy, it would be a scary thought.
IMO, the motivation for diy should be that you enjoy it.
If you want to build an extra for selling, that's up to you.

Awesome. What would you be willing to pay (=consider a fair price)?

I hear you. What I meant is this: Each set of parts costs roughly $100. Building 2 amps should not take much more time than building one amp (since I will already be going through the process anyway). Selling the second amp would help subsidise my one (I have already spent more on audio in the last couple of months than I was intending to... and then came the O2 and really tickled my fancy...) as well as make me feel good about helping some one else that can't be bothered going through the process of making one have one...

Does that make more sense?

I just wish someone would take nwavguy up on his challenge, but with people still waiting for the circuit board I'm starting to see why this hasnt happened.

BTW grev, what do you think about the upcoming head streamer? any guesses as to price? quality?
I need a USB DAC (for work to go with my DT770), considering the FiiO E10 (great price + free shipping atm), but might hold back if it is expected to be sub $200 and good...

Thats 'grevillea'. old chum, and I cant advise you on any of HRTs other products. I'm still using the Steamer and it works just fine, but so many DACs have come down the 'pike since then.
