Ah. Ok.

What are your thoughts on the ms2 v dt250? And what other options do I have?

Thanks

Have you ever tried the HD650? And do you think it'll cost over $500 from Marcus?

if you can amp the HD650s sufficiently, they are one of the better senns headphones out there .... imo.

i really like them.

Which also means a decent source is required.

They sound completely different ;)
I prefer the DT250 as they're more versatile and suit a wider range of music. I find the MS2 too fatiguing for more than a couple of songs - I prefer the AD900 over the MS2.

Yep. Thanks for that. If it helps, I have quite a narrow taste in music - alternative rock and plain alternative pretty much all the time :).
I'm not sure if I'll like the super airyness and agility of the AD900, but maybe prefer just a little more weight. And I'm not keen on spending $350 for a headphone that I could pick up for under $200 if I were to go overseas.

Also, for the songs that weren't fatiguing, did you find the MS2 more fun or engaging than the others? And do I have any other options?

Thank you,
Matt

I prefer the AD900 to the MS2 in pretty much every way except bass response (it would be nice if the AD900 had a little more in this regard, but everything else about them leads me to prefer them over the MS2).

Ok. Which headphone do you think would be the best choice for my music tastes?

Either the AD900 or the DT250, with the MS2 being a possible alternative if you find them comfortable and not too fatiguing to listen to.

Thanks. I'll never know if I find the MS2 fatiguing, but comfort probably isn't an issue.

What are your thoughts on the RS2, and so you know where I could get it from? How does the sound compare? And would buying off eBay be a bad idea?

Sorry about all the questions :D

I haven't heard the RS2 for an extended period, so I can't really comment on how they sound compared to the discussed alternatives.
Buying them off ebay is a bad idea.

Would you still recommend the MS2? They have the tag, but you don't seem to like them very much any more...:)

I'm not sure which ones I want. I know I'd prefer the DT250 to the AD900 and possibly the MS2 to the 250. It's really hard to pick headphones without hearing them!!!

The problem with the MS2 is that they deliver exactly what they claim to, yet some people don't really want what they deliver, despite thinking otherwise.
I recommend them if you want a very aggressive, up front and engaging headphone.
I would either get the MSPro, DT250 or AD900 if it were MY choice.

How do you know you won't like the AD900?
Saying you know you'd prefer the MS2/DT250 etc when you haven't heard any... you need to back up and accept that you have no idea whether you'll like ANY of the headphones being discussed unless you hear them ;)

If that's the case, you're saying I have a 1/3 chance of choosing the right ones! :)
I can't hear them, so I have to go by what I've read, and what I know about other audio equiptment already I own.

It looks like you are REALLY set on the MS2. If so, then just buy it and stop wasting everyone else's time.
