Corda Jazz now in stock :)

Postby Marcus » Mon Oct 24, 2011 11:03 am

Not added to the web catalogue as of my posting this, but in store now at $489.

Local customers are welcome to come in for a listen. I haven't had a chance yet, but it sure feels and looks like a nice amp ;)

I had a listen; would be rude not to.

Can't offer my opinion as anything useful, I only listened briefly, but I do prefer the Matrix considering its price. To my ears, there's not any clear differences. There probably is, but that would take longer listening to discern them.

But it is German, nicely put together, looks good, is a good size, and the gain switch is where it should be. All the power was usuable too - the fine volume control is just that, and you get plenty of use of the dial on either gain setting.

More beer money left over when you got the M-Stage, no regrets!

Doubt the difference would be huge at all.

Sadly, I've already spent the leftover beer money. But I did spend some of it on a case of Sierra Nevada.

The Jazz is a nice unit. But having heard the Concerto and not been game to stretch to that, I doubted it was going to be something I'd go for. It's more like a nicer, gruntier Swing.

Yeah no point thinking about new gear when it comes out, besides, the headphone choice makes a much bigger difference.

Yes, I listened to the 880s on the Matrix there. Don't know why I didn't like them before, they were pretty nice. Had some of the top endiness and clarity that falls away with the DT250.

Like everything in this lark, a big price to pay for relatively small improvements/differences.

The DT880s would be a good headphone to have, without hearing them. Now that I got an amp it may be worth swapping the DT250s for them. I'd even sell them for some MS Pros and leave it at that with one good pair for home.. But probably good to still have a closed pair if people are pissing you off.
