Need Help Finding a DAC/AMP

Postby willytboy » Tue Jun 19, 2012 3:34 pm

Hey guy's, I'm very new to this site and Audio as in General. I currently own 2 headphones the ATH-M50 and AD700, don't get me wrong I love both of these headphones, but I would like it if they can show more of there potentials, I'm currently using a Macbook Pro to play most of my audio from. Most of my audio consists of 320kbps and FLAC files. I was looking into some DAC's and was thinking about getting the AudioEngine D1 over the Fiio e17, I'm not really looking for portability, plus it's going to be sitting on my desk most of the time anyways :) I'm just looking for which DAC/AMP produces the best sound for my buck for under $200. Much help would be appreciated thanks :) List your suggestions. :P

The Hifiman EF2a is another you could well consider. A great sounding little amp, though I expect the DAC to be out-performed by the AudioEngine

FYI we'll be looking into AudioEngine and hope to deal with their range

Any update on this?

Looking into possibly getting the D1 and would rather pick it up from Headphonic than pay postage from over East.

No Audioengine unfortunately - instead I'd recommend the ibasso D-Zero and D7 :)
