Corda swing 1.5 years old.

turned it on and its just emitting a loud buzzing sound, checked all the cables and even swapped them and still the same. Playing songs it there is no power delivery and its extremely distorted

Jan can probably help you with troubleshooting if you chuck him an email
Cowon J3 -> Vsonic R02ProII | B2 | T50P
DACMagic -> Matrix M-stage -> DT250 | AD900 | MS-1 | A2

I had a corda swing. It broke 2 pairs of head phones and the funny thing is that it barely made the sound any louder than my sound card. And I had the same headphones as you.
Get a corda classic, VAST improvement,

I believe they have a 12 month warranty.

patricky - amps aren't just about making it louder.

Looks like I'm eyeing off a corda classic now. My question is it worth the outlay given my dac and headphones? Would a matrix be sufficient would I notice the difference? The stx which I have too use now seems like a step back with the mspros .

EDIT: decided on the matrix M-stage. When will this be back in stock

The Classic would definitely be worth the outlay, but the M-Stage is a great budget solution :)

I would suggest that you would be well within your rights to demand a fix under statutory warranty. It's more than reasonable to expect the amp to still work 6 months past it's manufacturer warranty.

We do tend to tell any Meier customer that they can contact the manufacturer (Jan Meier) directly and he will normally give advice on repairs or often offer to fix the item for free if it is a simple fault.

No demanding needed.

Yeah Jan Meier is pretty cool. The buzzing on the Meier amps could be caused by a loose connection with the active ground lead, I think. Though you would have to drop it to do that I recon.
