Thanks Marcus - I was close to calling you to send it back but then it works fine using the provided driver (v1.22) but it's not digitally signed so I had to go through hoops to get it installed - are you able to send me the drivers you are using?
I'm assuming it will get blocked via email (executables) so maybe a dropbox/onedrive share or something?
Or are you using the one from Quad's website? (quad-hifi.co.uk) - this is the one I couldn't get sound out from..
I'm going to try a couple of things over the weekend, hopefully get it sorted.

BTW the kit sounds brilliant :)

Cheers.

Yeah I just used the one from their website, but I've only tried it on one machine...
If it's working with 1.22 I'd stick with it :)

Awesome to know it's sounding great though! :D

Let me know how you go - I had major problems getting mine working regardless of OS.
Interested to see if my unit is "a bit" faulty or other people are having similar problems.

Having issues with my unit as well, won't work on Win 7 32 bit or Win 10 64bit

Windows says it's all good but it's stuck on test sound (with no sound)

Did you end up getting yours to work?

If it's having the same problem on multiple computers and different OS there could be a problem with the unit itself!

Testing one here I installed the latest drivers, switched my sound device over to the Quad and everything worked straight away.

If you can't get it working on any computers you may have to send it back to me for testing and I can swap it over if you have a faulty one.
I'm having the same issue now with Win7 and Win10

Yeah i got it to work but its fairly convoluted - I'll send the details through in the next couple of days. Basically you have to run your OS in test mode to allow unsigned drivers to work and self sign some dll files.

Ok, brace yourself... I don't know if ALL of the steps below must be done, I've had to try so many combinations of options to make it work, some steps may not be completely necessary.
After this, your Windows 10 will permanently boot in to "Test Mode" with a watermark on the bottom right corner.

1. Uninstall all versions of the Quad Link DAC drivers from your PC.
2. In BIOS, Secure Boot needs to be disabled
3. Boot your PC in to "Advanced Mode" and choose "Disable driver signature enforcement" (https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/229 ... -10-a.html)
4. Install Quad Link drivers that were supplied with your DAC (v1.22) - NOT the later version off their website. (If you need a copy let me know and I'll send dropbox link).
5. Reboot.
6. Open up elevated command prompt (Win key + x, a)
7. type in to command prompt (without the quote) "bcdedit.exe /set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS"
8. type in to command prompt (without the quote) "bcdedit.exe /set TESTSIGNING ON"
- you can type in "bcdedit.exe", press ENTER to confirm the above settings have changed.
- you can reverse the above changes to stop booting in to test mode, if for some reason you don't need your DAC to work ("bcdedit.exe /deletevalue loadoptions" and "bcdedit.exe /set TESTSIGNING OFF")
9. Download dseo13b (http://www.techspot.com/downloads/6205- ... rider.html)
10. Use DSEO13b to sign 2 driver files: "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\iagusbaudio_x64.sys" and "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\iagusbaudioks_x64.sys"
11. Reboot.
DONE!
If you need any files let me know - I have saved the signed .sys files and v1.22 Quad Link drivers and have the above method down pat (have had to do it so many times from trying to get different driver working).
Good luck!!!

Now that's going above and beyond, thanks a lot! :)
I have to admit my only experience with the Quad has been to plug and play so I'm not much help with troubleshooting :(

Been meaning to post that the latest build of Windows 10 (1803) seems to eliminate driver issues from prior posts - but I'm occasionally hearing clicks or pops(?) - a friend with a totally different DAC is having similar issues and I'm wondering if this is a common issue with USB DACs? And if there are ways to minimize the clicks/pops.
Also, a DAC recommendation to replace the Quad D1 to add to my wish list :)
Thanks!

Pops and clicks are pretty rare for DACs unless something is going wrong. I'd normally assume that the common factor will be the USB port, some of which can be pretty poor quality and can result in glitches with USB DACs. You can get around it a few ways, such as using a USB to SPDIF converter, or trying different USB ports/different drivers and different audio settings in your playback software.

In terms of a replacement DAC - something new will give you some feature upgrades, but performance increases are going to be pretty small, if present at all, so depending on how much you want to spend it may or may not be worth it.
