Scratchy pot

Post by theeyealtering » Tue Nov 24, 2015 5:58 am

I've got an Einar VC-01i which I've had for a few years now and the volume pot is starting to go. It scratches when I change volume, which isn't so bad except now it's starting to interfere with the sound even when I'm not changing volume.

Is it easy to replace these things? I haven't opened it up to have a look yet because it don't have the right size torx wrench.

If you can solder it shouldn't be hard :)

some contact lube or deoxit could probably keep it going for another couple of years unless its completely cactus
i find deoxit is great for resurrecting dirty pots

Great. I'll try deoxit first and see how it goes
