Sennheiser 590s...older model?

I have seen the Sennheiser 590 around the place. Are these an old version of the 595s or it it a completely different beast?
Have you tried these out?

The HD590 is an older discontinued model, some places might still have stock that they're trying to clear.
The HD595 is the replacement model for them - I'm not a fan of either myself, IMO the Audio Technica ATH-AD700 outperforms both.

Hi Marcus,
I saw the 590s for around the $250 mark and thought it might be a bargain. Paying for the name I suppose
I'm after an all rounder for Jazz/Rock/Classical/most things. I just wish I knew about this site the last time I was in the market (and came home with Sennheisers). I'll check out the Audio Technicas.

Well the thing with audio is even something that appears to be a bargain might not suit your tastes, however ignorance is bliss.
eg: even if I could personally buy a Sennheiser HD650 for $100 I wouldn't because I just don't enjoy their sound - if I hadn't heard anything better it would be a bargain

If you like the way the HD590 sound that's the important thing!
