Sounds like a good solution the attenuator would be pretty handy and you could always add the sub later. They would be far better than any computer speakers so not surprised you are happy with the sound. The HS80M are pretty massive for a desk. I'd probably get some stands for them i guess. Have found an online shop that sell the HS80M for $750 a pair pp which is great, still not ready to get a pair yet though.
