I think I'll stick with my Cowon DSPs. I'm still trying to figure out what BBE+ does to the FR

Sadly no, and I don't have the gear to set it up properly

The first one was, but they claim that V2 will have a more audible impact on the entire frequency spectrum. Riverback mentioned BBE, and that's just another form of DSP (Cowon license it from a third-party). I'm keeping an open mind until I spend some time with the thing. Right now, its in the same boat as the O2 amp - the only difference is that I've seen measurements for the latter.

From what I can tell on the demo's. Its like a shitty sound engineer in a box =(

Add Bass boost, an normalise everything +10 db
Pretty much what every sound engineer working on a pop album already does: compensate for low-fi listening equipment

Is dismissing a product without hearing it any different to recommending a product without hearing it?

Well they did post an effects simulation on their site. Not to mention there's something fishy about that simulation

I'm just being skeptical, BBE+ has broken my heart before. And FOTM's have done worse
Hopefully there's more to it than just bass boost. A closer look on those FR graphs show that the gain boost isn't linear.
It might be doing something you don't notice on first glance

I'll be looking forward to one of the grev's impressions on it after a few weeks that they've had it :)

drubbing, feel free to diss it. I'm hardly 'recommending' it - simply pointing out that its a massive FOTM and, as I mentioned in my OP, will probably end in tears. I continue to believe that DSP, done properly, has something to offer, and that simply hasnt been my experience with EQ. It may surprise many of you to know that I never use EQ - not at all - but this may or may not be a better mousetrap.
