I see you have three of some things now! Nice!

Haha, yeah, recently bought 3 of the KSC75s and then bought another Clip+, I have a red, blue and black one now. -_-; But I do plan to give one set of them (KSC75 & Clip+) to my girlfriend. :P And got the NAD C316BEE amp plus the Audioengine n22 amp... -_-

The wackiest example of the 'two amps' thing I'm aware of is a guy on HF who has hearing damage in one ear - he claims he can wire up his phones to use two portable amps in a 'monoblock' configuration, one for each channel, and adjust the volume on each to suit his hearing disability. All I can say is that you would REALLY need to be sure that the amps you were buying suited your personal preferences - doubling the cost of an amp purchase isnt my idea of a good time.

I wonder what would happen if Grev hooked up all his amps in series, each amp being a pre-amp for the next pre-amp (it's like an ampcection) and the last amp being the one the headphones plug into :P

Tempting, grev? I hope so

I reckon I would be the first one to divide by zero then.

Not if they were only on ~half volume or less.
Forget the amps, think of how much better the sound would be with all those cables strung together :wasted: :wasted: :wasted:

I've just gotten mine, a friend was making a heap of them up, so... :)

Anyway, I've only tried it with the DT250s (I need to go buy a PSU, it went through two 9Vs in about 2.5hrs). While I haven't had the 250s on an M-Stage or T-33 since my last visit to Perth (so I can't remember just how much improvement they can yield), I can say that the O2 did have an effect on the DT250s: the bass has tightened up. It's also meant that I can turn down my system volume (line out isn't working) and do the amping outside the comp...eliminating that slight—yet annoying—noise floor. So as an interim solution, I'm quite happy :)

Cheers
Matt.

Great stuff - can someone link me to a wallwart for this thing ? Oliver emailed me to say that he cant source one for our power - I'm assuming Jaycar or someone has a compatible wallwart.

(Yes, I know it was all in the parts list, but that's why I paid someone else to build mine - so I wouldnt NEED to look at a parts list .... :crybaby: )

Thanks Dingo - I'll get busy and order that now - wont have the amp till January but that's showbiz. How is the group buy coming along ? Various DiY gurus on HF are now claiming that they could build a second O2 in less than 3 hours, go to whoa.

Group Buy is a disaster.

3 hours seems ok for a 1st build where you'd familiarise yourself with the design, layout etc. Should be able to go much quicker for a subsequent build, it's only just over 60 components. All the parts solder directly onto the board, so the only steps are stuffing the board, snipping component leads, and soldering them in. Then clean off the flux, fire it up for a quick check with a multimeter, and throw it in a case with pre-fabricated front panel.

Great - should I feel bad that it has taken Oliver about 6 weeks to complete the above ?
