DT880 250Ohm and an Asus STX?

I actually didn't like the DT880 much until I heard them from a decent amp.

If I bought a DT880 250Ohm, would my Asus STX be able to drive it properly with it's headphone out?

No.

The DT880s sound flat and lazy with the ST/X's amp. After that I bought a Talisman amp, and it was much better.

Blobbie lent me his 880 a while back. The M-Stage does a really good job with them. I never really liked them before, but a couple of week with the M-Stage and they were rather nice. He wouldn't let me keep them though. I'd only have them if they were that cheap...

kind of applies to most headphones that require amping

may explain the large number of under-whelmed listeners running their headphones from ipods or FiiO amps =\
