Matrix: M-Stage

Postby Camo » Fri Feb 24, 2012 7:28 am

Hi,
Not sure if this is the right way of finding out, so move or delete this if need be.

Any idea on when the Matrix: M-Stage will be back in stock?

Cheers,
Camo

Instead of creating a new thread, I though I'd just ask here...

1. What colours are you getting in? (Black/Silver)
2. Will they be the "2012 Ver2.1"?

Just wondering if these would be suitable with AKG-Q701s... I see these two names pop up together often. Source is my laptop.

Is there a better DAC around this price range? I don't want to go too much over 300$

edit-oops just noticed this isn't actually a DAC.

Yeah you're gonna need a good DAC and a good amp if you're using the Q701 from a laptop...

Probably not the right place to continue posting about it any more but I've been hearing good things about Audinst HUD-MX1 and Yulong U100 as 'entry level' DACs. Do you have any thoughts on these?

Never heard them!
"Entry level" and the Q701 don't really go together... you'll end up investing a fair bit to get a sound that isn't really that amazing...

Will the Matrix M Stage improve on STX > HD650 or should I be aiming higher?

Thanks.

The STX amp isn't ideal with power hungry phones, according to those who have one, and have been able to make comparisons. You should get an imrovment with a dedicated amp.

You could go higher than the Matrix, but things other than outright power would be the reason to do it. I couldn't justify the extra cost of a T33h - it's not like there was a ZOMG! difference to me. The Corda Classic is worth a look as an inbetweener.

I'd only go the T33H if you really want to play with power hungry phones like the LCDs

Instead of creating another new thread,

1. When will the non USB version be back in stock?
2. What price will they be?
