Oooo. That seems more expensive than the player itself though :S

I might just nab a 64gb :)

Yeah, but its convenient having a full music collection on the SD card, I can swap it between my laptop, Galaxy Tab & the Cowon D2+.
Not bad for $200.... I'm sure prices will continue to drop further. :D

The HiSound players use a micro sd card which currently tops out at 64GB.... that's around $180. I'm sure microsd cards will drop further too.

My "excuse" for buying them was portability... may as well make good on that one now!

Yes they should be fine. I've got the 840s with a Cowon J3 and they run pretty well with it.

Marcus/Felix, on another note, I read some stuff saying that the Studio had some hiss and mobile phone interference but others have said that there's none. Have you noticed anything like this on the demo models ?

Also is it true that the EQ is set by the firmware - i.e. dynamic and something else I can't remember the name of ?

I haven't noticed any hiss or mobile phone interference.
EQ is set, yes :)

The "EQ" thing (dynamic or otherwise) is probably a setting on the DAC Chip hence you need a firmware swap for it. It's probably like the filter options you see on the DACMagic

Standard RoCoo drives the DT250-80 well enough, max volume not quite as loud as some might want.
I don't have an open RoCoo-P to compare unfortunately :(

More efficient headphones (SRH840 etc) are fine :)

Cool, thanks. I've ordered the DT250 now, so they're definitely the headphone that I need to be able to drive. ;)
What's the difference between the standard Rocoo and the P?

I believe the P has more power.
Can't test, because we just sold out of the P so I only have my demo RoCoo player now :(

Marcus, what cans were you using the player with when you didn't hear any hiss?

I'm thinking about getting the Studio, but not sure if it's a good match to what I currently have (DT-1350, SE535, E4C, HD558 and ATH-ANC7). I'm still using a Cowon D2 (almost 5 years now) here...really would like to have a new DAP.

A little Off-topic, but do you guys know a good place to get micro SDHC's? Don't trust a lot of the stuff going on eBay
I underestimated my Music Library. lol

Ok just trying a pair of T50p vs my DT531 (250ohm) - with some recordings if I turn it up there's hiss but as far as I can tell it's the noise floor of the recordings, in most cases I have to turn the headphones up louder than I'd normally listen and focus on the bits where there's "no sound".

Not an issue IMO.

If I had to choose based upon sound alone absolutely. But I won't be swapping my D2+ any time soon, and if they were at the same price at time of purchase I'd probably still get the D2+. But that's me saying this after ~3 years with the Cowon. Storage/interface/battery life I love. I don't think I could accidentally leave the RoCoo playing in my car over-night and continue to listen for the next week

Yeah I read that the RoCoo has about 10 hours battery life but the Studio has about 80 (or 100 depending on what you read). The UI seems a little awkward though especially if you have a lot of songs on the player and trying to search for specific songs ?
Also, does the Studio still sound good even with easy to drive headphones (like canals or ES7/similar) ?
