Woops! Just replaced my sticky tape job with super glue today. My poor RE0's...What's the issue?

I had issues with my RE0 also and when the warranty was up, I gave up entirely. However, they did sound very good while they lasted and they are incredibly cheap for the quality of sound so I thought it was still worth it. Can't have it all.

Superglue fumes and small drivers tend to not get along very well. It's not instant-death, rather there are better alternatives less likely to cause problems :)

I'm afraid I didn't see this message in time and superglued them back together. Due to the way they fit together, the glue should be mostly separated from the drivers, but anyway it doesn't seem to have caused a problem.

But then, something else happened a few days ago.I left the headphones in my pocket when I washed my pants, so now they're much cleaner. I dried them out in the sun (pants and headphones) and... amazingly they seem to be working just fine. Obviously there may be subtle differences my ears can't detect in frequency response now, but any impact seems negligible.

What damage if any have I likely done to them? First superglue, now a full wash cycle, these headphones are tougher than I thought! ;)

They're probably still absolutely fine. My only concerns would be deterioration of the filter, or having small particles collect internally (which you could probably hear). If the filter is intact you're safe. I've done this to an old set of Vsonic R02Pro and they worked fine for months after!

This is happening to my Vsonics atm
The grill/filter on my right piece is accumulating earwax and I can't really clean it because the filter's dislodged from the shell and any tampering just pushes it back further in :p

I'm keeping my fingers crossed on that next B2 shipment for an upgrade

Ah well, the left ear on my RE0s just died. It didn't cut out, it slowly faded into nothing. Testing it with laptop, iPhone, iPod, all the same, so definitely the phones. I'm assuming it's the driver rather than the plug, but who knows. Perhaps washing them (see above) did kill them after all, although they lasted another 6 months. Total lifespan, 18 months. I've seen worse I suppose.

Looks like the AF56 or the M3's are the most suitable replacements in the same ballpark. Any preferences on either of these?
