Everytime mum sees a house for sale while we're driving past one, the first question I ask when she seems interested in it is "I wonder if the Internet's fast" :unibrow:

I haven't quite got to the stage where I'm buying multiple amps yet

People seem to be willing to pay an arm and a leg for audio equipment, I'd be surprised if Satan hasn't gotten into this field yet

100-Pak =GOLD= 8X MAM-A (Mitsui) (Archival-grade) DVD-R

I needed about 3 for work >.>, wonder how many I can actually claim on tax. Don't ask what the price was :puke: :crybaby: :puke:

I've been wanting these for a while, we used to use them yonks ago but then we calculated that we could use DVD media that lasted 4 years and keep reburning it, actually turns out to be 2-4 years, so we suffered data loss here and there. Also that is actually a load of a effort, once you take into consideration the hours involved its almost worth using archival grade media again.

They are rated for 100 years  so will probably last 30-50 years outside of proper storage :paranoid:, the only problem is the price :puke:.

The price of gold keeps rising so if I put buying them off any longer they will just keep costing more. Also they have a good shelf life rofl :ninja:.

hmmm sorta glad I bought the dvds, hopefully they are legit I bought them off ebay off an official listed supplier. I was googling the interwebs and saw a site claiming to sell them but the dye colour was wrong o.O expensive fakes exist. They should be gold/green not purple :O we shall see.

American supply of the media is dwindling, I guess the market for overly expensive long lasting media isn't that big anymore.

Reliable long term cloud storage is expensive. Even recently I have to hunt for some data I lost that was in cloud storage, its there somewhere or on a backup possibly, but I don't have access to it XD.

I had a few gigs of research material in enterprise grade cloud storage, thats in a fireproof server somewhere, and they have multiple backups including tape, but they did a server upgrade and scrambled up all the user accounts. Win :\ . If it wasn't for my own back ups which I am rather lax with, I would have been in a lot of trouble. Even with their backups, if data is lost occurs it takes 24 hours to 7 days to get it back.

Most cloud storage is on harddrives in some sort of raid array if you are lucky, but they are still using traditional hard drives usually :/. Sometimes running your own raid array is as reliable (except that its not off site).

SE535s get. They don't benefit from being amp'd that much, but they sound really good unamp'd. I got the clear ones and they stand out a lot less than any other earphones I've had before. I wonder if I can get away with not taking them out when talking to people.

They are seriously awkward getting in lol. Comfortable when in, and easy to remove, just weird putting in. Sound quality off a portable (Psvita/Iphone 4) gives my MS-PROs a run for their money. Off my main system, they lose . I am quite impressed by their sound off a portable (which they are designed for), but there was a weird noise floor coming off my vita that disappeared after about 5 minutes, thats probably on the vita end, bit odd.

I had the SE425's for a bit. Heres how I found it easiest to get it in.

Hold it like it would sit in the ear, but rotate it forward (so if you have the right one in your right hand ready to put in, rotate clockwise). Angle the tip in then rotate it back into place.

Massive PITA to get in though since Samsung are sending SFA for Australia.

Hopefully you got a decent price for it. Needs a bit of calibration out of the box but beats most other current 27 inch screens apparently.

I certainly did get a good price for it. And it's damn nice. Did need to tweak it a little but not a whole lot. I'm doing any photo/video work so it's good enough for me. The extra resolution is more what I'm after. Especially for Ableton Live, the extra width is fantastic.
