Really loving this Audioengine D1. I thought that the DAC in the ol' XFi Xtrememusic with Kernel Streaming would be pretty decent. But it really doens't compare.

I find myself staying up late just listening to music, can't remember the last time I was doing that.

Its just clearer. Its more transparent. I can hear more detail in everything, and everything is punchier.

Audio bug has bitten *wonders whats the next step up*

My KOSS KSC75 just arrived today :)

Few questions for people who have experienced them...

- Is the packaging supposed to be this rectangular grey box? Looks like this: http://imgc.classistatic.com/cps/kjc/12 ... d5_18.jpeg (Sorry, was the only one I could find online :P)

- I noticed the "cups" don't push onto my ears enough. What can I do to improve the "clamping force". I've heard the hooks can be bent, but not sure which way haha

Overall, I was very impressed by the sound quality for the low price. What I like is that I now have a pair of portables and something that sounds a little different to my MS-1s, since these are much bassier sounding headphones (if pushed against my ear).

I think I've read they have a wide soundstage too? Will have to try some different songs out (that isn't Electro House or Trance) and hear for myself :)

Cheers

I'm thinking of getting contacts as well. How's the switch from glasses to contacts?

Was wondering if they're a hit or miss in terms of comfort (I'm sure I'll be able to get used to them overtime, though).

If you weren't wearing glasses before, disregard everything I said :D :D :D

I've bought a couple of pairs and they always come in blister packs, but maybe they changed the box... Who knows?

1) Remove the drivers from the ear clips (they should just click off).
2) Place the ear clips on a table with the Koss logo facing up.
3) Gently push down on the Koss logo to bend to desired distance.

I wouldn't say they have a wide soundstage. Kinda like the MS1 really. Although I mostly listen to the K702 so my view is possibly skewed.

Thank you, kind sir! This definitely helped :D

After a bit more of a listen, you're right. These do sound like the MS-1. Not much different in sound signature, to be honest. Can't really tell what's different between this and my MS-1. Perhaps I'll have to start getting used to the MS-1s again and find out what's missing in the KSC75 :P

Have to say though, these definitely have slightly less treble.

I'm not planning to use contacts permanately; just for times when I don't really want to wear glasses like for going out, cycling, etc.

So far, I'm really liking them. It's great to be able to see properly with no weight on my face or blind-spots that glasses have.
They not uncomfortable at all and at times I can't even feel that I'm wearing them. Of course, comfort is a personal thing so this doesn't mean that you'll find them so comfortable, but I do personally find them more comfortable than glasses.
Getting them in and out is a pain, and something I'll have to get used to. It requires a lot of eye-touching.

Haha, yeah I do wear glasses. They're on page 124 of this thread. :D

I used to wear glasses, never tried wearing contacts though :ninja:

I'm missing a year of memory, after that I stopped wearing glasses lol. Thats pretty funny when I think about it.

Less treble, more midbass and an overall less clear, slightly metallic sound next to MS1 IMO. Still, they are great little headphones.

I purchased a pair of Shure 535 headphones for my PSvita but the problem is that they pick up a decent amount of noise from the vita. Its white noise so it does tune out after a while but its a bit annoying. I quite like the SE535s, moderately difficult to get used to putting in, but quite good after that.

I don't think theres a way of via passing the headphone out, why put a good dac chip in the psvita then put a crappy headphone port in :/

You get used to contacts. It is VERY important to try a few different types before deciding on which ones.

The slightest changes can make a big difference.

EG. The 14.2 diameter ones i had recently were terrible! Very uncomfortable (i think the 14.2 was a tad large) and dried my eyes out (contacts can have very different compositions and affects here).

Swap back to ones i used ot have, 14.0 diameter. Instantly more comfortable.

I wear the Dailies Aquacomfort Plus by CIBA Vision. Get em from ClearlyContacts if you know what you need.

Do you have glass ones or those plastic ones. What happens if it goes to the side of your eye or you hit your eye and it might shatter?
