Opinions Anyone? DigiZoid ZO Portable Amp

Postby Jasper. » Thu Apr 26, 2012 8:58 pm

Hey Guys,

Just reading up on this and was wondering if anyone has this and would be willing to share opinions. Also Marcus or Felix, will Headphonic be getting this in?

Thanks :D

AMP with a dac, that EQ's bass and uses dynamic range compression to boost volume. :ninja: I think some of the reviewers forgot that louder sounds better to us humans.

If you buy a portable amp with an EQ feature you can achieve the same results, with bass boost? or manual eq that some have

EDIT: It does have 32 steps of EQ adjustment, which is a bit more than others have, though its beaten on sound quality by some AMPs. Depends what you what you want I guess.

Thanks for the quick response. :) I'm thinking of getting this to go with my ROCOO p because the EQ is quite bad.

It has 32 EQ options for bass level only :O. I suppose if you want more bass. Try to get more opinions, I am not sure about the value of running a player with a amp out to a weaker portable amp? What are you connecting to the Rocoo-P, are you using multi BA driver IEMs? possibly interesting then.

EDIT: My STX with the Unified drivers, has the same ability as their SmartVektor(tm), adjust volume up and switch on the bass optimised profile, it eq's bass especially lower range base at 30mhz up and eq's mid range down. If you combine eq'ing bass response up and mid range down, my STX can do 40 EQ options compared to their 32. :ninja:

I think I saw the other grev threw his in the bin.

I still have 2 of them. I use it from clip+ > ZO2 > ksc-75, great little combo.

Thanks, I'm still confused about the EQ/Options of this little amp. Could someone please clarify?

It has no DAC,just an Amp with gain and bass contour control, so more on the lines of mating things sound warm and bassy instead of bass boost.

If you have 10 step equalizer, my bet the Z02 sound would be on something like:
30hz (+10), 60hz (+7), 120hz (+2) 250hz (+0), 500hz (+0), 1khz (-3), 2khz (-9), 4khz (-8), 8k (+0), 16k (+0).
