Headphone suggestions please :)

Hello :D

I'm looking for a pair of headphones, because people don't like the kick/base in the songs I listen too :(

I'm a huge fan of EDM, specifically: House, Electro House, Progressive house, dubstep and some Dnb to a certain degree (mostly pendulum for dnb).

My head size for headphones is hard to explain, however. I tried on a pair of senheiser 598's, they aren't for me at all! :O They are too light, and just kinda stretch on my head. They were perfect for my friend, because he has a much smaller head. PLUS, they just didn't have that punch I needed for my music... they were open as well.

I liked the feel of velour on those headphones, though I'm unsure what pleather would feel like either. I much prefer really comfy velour headphones, that have thick pads that kinda sink into my head. I really want to avoid headphones where my ears get squashed in the cup, I have turtle beach headsets and my ears just kill me after a long use of them.

I would be looking at some studio headphones, but I'm unsure if I want to get back into producing house/electro house kinda stuff anymore. I just want some headphones that are pure music listening pleasure :D

The ear cups need to be wide, and the head band needs to fit on-top of my head soundly, I dislike really loose headphones :( They need to be closed as well.

I feel like I'm being ultra picky, though I want those perfect headphones for my needs I suppose.

I'm not that knowledgeable in the land of headphones, but I've read a lot of tops in this forum before when I was searching for some. I looked into the Audio Technia A-900's, they seemed good. I wasn't sure about them, they were also in my price range of $300 - $350.

Thank you

I would definitely look at the Beyer DT250. Seem to suit pretty well what you need.

Had a look at that, and I'm not sure. However, I do like the Beyerdynamic DT770 a lot, it seems to look like what I need :O

Theres the ATH-A900X, which is a bit different to the A900, theoretically it slightly improves bass response but you should read Marcus's thread about the headphones as they might be more comfortable for some people and less comfortable for others compared to the A900.

I'd go the DT250 over the A900x for bass response.
Ultrasone Pro550 maybe?

They Beyerdynamic 770 seems to be perfect so far, I'm not leaning towards ultrasone because their cups don't seem to have that much depth. I've looked into Audio technia, it's a huge gamble for me, in terms of comfort. Pleather ear pads don't seem to fit my description.

Thanks for the suggestions! :D

maybe also consider the Shure 940s.

altho yeah, the 770s are supremely comfortable, coupled with the velour earpads ..... real nice.

you havent mentioned what you will be listening to them from, portable source/desktop etc >?

Oops... I'll be listening to them from a desktop with a Asus sound card and I'll be getting a Fiio e17 amp.
