Goodbye Vsonic VS-R02, Hello R02-Pro!

They listened to feedback ;)
These sound a lot better than the original VS-R02, the treble is smoother and bass has been improved a lot as well. Midrange is still very nice.

They also changed the tips included, gone are the horrible cone shaped things, which have been replaced by soft tips more like those included with the Sennheiser CX300.

Recommended? You bet :)

HOWEVER!! As usual, just like any canalphone, these still rely on a good fit to get a good sound, if you don't fit them properly, they don't sound any good.
The bad news is that they've changed the size of the tip, so all that fiddling I did before to find out which tips fit will have to be redone.

Hmm. Well, I would like to buy some canalphones and these definitely sound nice, but I was already willing to buy the ER-6i. You said that these compare with canalphones two or three times the price... so how do they compare to the ER-6i?

The ER-6i offer higher levels of isolation, and are a little more balanced sounding, but the Vsonic has better bass response overall. Build quality of both models is about the same.

We've only got white at this time.
The only change to the design is the new tips as far as I can tell.

I'm testing a pair right now, but that's all I can say :D :unibrow:

I'm guessing the R02-Pro's are what you were hinting at?

I've decided to give the R02-Pro's a shot. They sound like a real bargain. I'll post a review once I've had a listen.

Hmm. Perhaps fitting the new tips to the original R02's would make them sound like this new version then?

The only change to the physical design is the tips, the drivers and therefore sound are very different.
