The T90 features Beyer’s Tesla drivers resulting in a detailed, spacious and responsive sound.

The Beyerdynamic T90 offers fantastic levels of detail and instrument separation along with a wide soundstage. Treble detail is especially good and likely to let you hear things in your music you have never heard before. Midrange detail is nice, although not especially forward.
Bass response is tight and fast, with a good bit of kick to it. Perhaps not the best for people who want lots of bass, but great for those that love a detailed and balanced sound.
Comfort levels are up to the usual excellent standards that Beyer headphones offer and build quality is also excellent. The Beyerdynamic T90 is a fairly efficient headphone, so high powered dedicated amplification is not required, but a good quality headphone stage is a must.

Having the T90 around for these last couple of weeks have made me appreciate Beyerdynamic even more. The T90 to me really is an awesome headphone and an ideal mix between detail and fun. Call me a fan. A lot of our readers and myself already “dig” the Custom One Pro and the DT770AE and while this T90 is easily double the price of the last two mentioned, I hope you’ll get the chance to listen to it and appreciate it like I do.
The Beyerdynamic T90 is expensive, but for well-heeled audiophiles the price will seem reasonable. I know of no other less-expensive headphone that can match the T-90's combination of comfort, sound, and build quality. Perhaps the biggest downside to the T90 is that it's not well-suited to portable use, but few full-size, audiophile-oriented headphones are. The T90 is best savored at home, plugged into a high-quality headphone amplifier or AV receiver.
